On a train journey, I wear my Nano as a watch and listen to the radio or to music. After a while, the screen goes dark and when I tap it, up comes the radio or music icon. If I want to check the time, I then have to flip left or right to get to the clock and tap again.

Is there some way of arranging things so that the clock is the default display? During a journey, one frequently wants to check the time at a glance.

Go to Settings->General->Date & Time, scroll down to "Time on Wake" and turn it on. Now every time you wake up the iPod Nano, it will display the time. Tap to continue to where you were before.
