Birthdays with no birth year in Contacts (Address Book) appear 1 day late in Calendar

I manually entered details of my contacts in Contacts/Address Book. I spent hours doing this only to notice that birthdays that I didn't put a birth year on appear 1 day late in Calendar. Is there a fix for this?

(I'm using OS X Mountain Lion, if that's any help)

After researching further on this, I've settled on using the nifty little app called 'dates to ical'. It fixed the late birthday, plus it has features that add anniversaries and other custom dates to ical as well.

So do you input the birthdays on the app? Or still on the individual contacts?

You input the contact details in the Contacts app and Dates to iCal will automatically load them to the Calendar.
