Hey, so I was thinking of upgrading my 13 inch Macbook pro (mid 2012) with 8gb ram and a 128gb SSD. Do you guys have any suggested brands or specific ones to buy? Thanks :)

Oh, and links would be appreciated!

I recommend Crucial for both SSD and Ram upgrades.

I have the same machine. Forget the 8GB upgrade and just max it out and 16GB. You can do so with an OWC upgrade for about $160.

On the SSD - OWC also makes a well respected brand. You can get a 120GB version for $130 (Search Results for Mercury Electra 3G 120GB at MacSales.com).

For only another $30, you can get it with a data doubler, which will allow you to replace your optical drive with your stock hard drive. Highly recommend.

If you still need an optical drive, you can put the stock one in an external enclosure for $30-$40, depending on where you buy. If you don't mind cheap quality, you can get the OWC one, thereby getting all your stuff in one place.
