In changing Ownership & Permissions I click the 'Apply to enclosed items...' button.

There is a warning/info dialog that is displayed with the bottom line saying 'You cannot undo this.'

Are there unintended consequences?

Maybe if you tell us what it is that you're trying to apply the new ownership and permissions to, we may be able to answer your question.

A users folder. I got the laptop from a neighbor (free). Just trying to clean out their stuff but not lose access to apps. I created a new user (Owner) with admin rights. I have access to the other accounts. I log in as the other user and get info on the home folder. I set admin group access to R/W and then change ownership to Owner. I log in as Owner and copy the other users folder to NAS. I delete the other user account (using Delete Immediately). I have removed the old user accounts this way and now the only user is Owner.
It seems to be working. I just wonder what will happen if a system file/app, was owned by a deleted user... will the ownership be abandoned? will any other user/group, i.e., admin, be able to claim ownership?
As I say, everything seems to be working...
