ibooks will not back up to Itunes

2007 mac mini core2duo, snow lepord, 1 gig mem
When ever I back up my phone everything but the ibooks backs up to my itunes.
After exploring for a while I found a section to that was not checked but when I checked it to back up the books it said that if I did that all movies, tv shows and music would be deleted.
How can I back up my books?

Are you sure your iTunes account is similar to the account you used to download the books from the iBookstore?

Yes. It is the only account I have. All the apps I buy through the account on my phone back up, just not the books.
