If by a reset you mean that the iPod has been returned to the way it was when it was first purchased...no it should not hurt anything...other than you would need to reload all the items you had on it before the reset (apps., music, etc.)...assuming you want to reload everything (or most things).
But just in case doing this sort of thing was damaging...wouldn't it be better to ask this question BEFORE doing a reset??
