hey guys. i'm thinking of replacing my 3rd generation ipod battery with something purchased online at sites such as ipodresQ, PDAsmart and smalldog. i was wondering if anyone else has attempted the d-i-y method and if so, how difficult was it to change the battery? would you recommend just paying apple $100 to do it?

A 30gb iPod is only three times the cost of an Apple Replacement. Unless you are really getting a good deal on the battery and are sure you know what you're doing with the DIY... I'd just get another one. You know that they are worth it, no?

I <3 my iPod, and if the battery died (I have the b + w 4g), I'd just take that as an excuse to go buy another newer, better one.

I guess it's up to you :)
