OS X Version 10.7.4, Lion
I have an iMac, Lion version 10.7.4. I am running Office 2008 for Mac. Every thing was fine until a few weeks ago.

I recive an small wind with a message. This freezes my computer and I must Force Quite Excel and reopen. Every thing I had saved was still saved.

The Massage is: Microsoft Excel cannot save Auto Recover to Macintosh HD: Users :williamrosen Documents: Microsoft user Data Office 2008 Auto Recovery

You need to troubleshoot your office 2008
A simple troubleshooting steps is Create a new User
Go to System Preferences > Accounts
Add a new User account and make it an admin account
Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching
Test Office in the new User
