I knew I had to pay for it, but somehow when i checked mac site, it said i can just upgrade via mac store..but in the mac store it says it doesnt support my system. So I am bit confused as to whether upgrade is even an option for my system!

I have snow leopard 10.5.8 version and want to get the mountain lion..

FYI...OS 10.5.8 is Leopard...not Snow Leopard. Or if you do actually have Snow Leopard...then it's OS version 10.6.8.

What do you mean by "I am not able to find it."...where have you looked?

Yes...if you've looked at the Apple Online Store...it is no longer there. You can either find Snow Leopard on e-Bay (probably expensive)...or call Apple on the phone (and I do mean on the phone).

Coincidentally (about 20-30 minutes ago)...I just helped another Mac-Forums member in the exact same situation as you. They called Apple, ordered Snow Leopard, and will be receiving it next week.
