My Failing G5 finally would not start - hours of trying no go. So, I opened up the case, whipped out the hard drive, and mounted as a second drive on my operating G5. The old one is dead, maybe I will do something with the case, maybe not.

My question is, can I delete the operating system on the drive, now that I don't use that drive to boot with?

Not if it's "dead".
