Hey guys,

I tried plugging in an HDMI to my Macbook Pro with retina display and the sound didn't transfer to the TV. What I mean is that the sound was emitted from my laptop, rather than my TV. Is there any way that I could make the sound go to my TV?

Thanks!

You're not using the proper adapter and or cable to the TV. The HDMI port on the Retina will output both sound and video.

Go into the sound under settings and click the Output tab and simply click on the output device to start using it for sound.
