I have a 2011 15" MacBook and wanted to upgrade ram a bit for games. There's a deal on corsair 2x8gb ram sticks for $80. My question is: is 16gb to much for my needs? Are there any draw backs for having this much ram?
Also, should I buy the deal and put in only 1 stick of 8gb and leave the other 2gb stick?
Thanks guys!

Thanks. Are there any drawbacks to running so much ram even though when I'm not playing a game I'll be only using 2-3 gbs?

if you have 2x2gb in your system, 2x4gb is an ideal one, it is your choice.
