A while ago, my brother blocked Youtube from my computer, going through terminal. I've tried to change it back, by going through Sudo Pico /ect/hosts, but whenever I try, there are no entries, and if I try to save it, it says that it can't find the host file.

What version of OS X is this? You might want to check /private/etc/hosts as opposed to just /etc/hosts to see if anything is there. Next time don't let your brother use your computer..

I have version 10.6.8. I just tried /private/ect/hosts, and still nothing came up.

It's /etc/hosts, not /ect/hosts. This may be why you don't see anything.
