Good PC soundcard for my Powerbook

Hi all.

I'm a budding audio-phile if you will, and thus, the built-in audio on my Powerbook is a bit lacking. I'd like to know if there are any good PC cards (Type I/II) souncards available that won't completely kill the battery life on this thing. Suggestions?

Why PCI? I'd suggest looking at firewire or a good usb unit.
The market is full of quality firewire units ranging from £69 to £1500.Behringer now do a 2in/2out firewire for £69.....
Obviously if you need more than 2 inputs then you will be looking at the mid/high end of the market, but there are now so many models available you should be able find something that fits your requirements and budget.

Thanks for your help; I'll definetley look into those. I was hoping to use the PCI slot as I figured most USB/ Firewire ones would be a ***** to carry around. I'm particularly liking the FireWave and F-CONTROL AUDIO FCA202.

That's quite OK :flower:

The reason I mentioned it was in case when searching for products, you may not have got the best results that you could have done.

Sometimes they go by the name of PCMCIA cards but strictly speaking those are 16bit cards and most these days are 32bit PC-Card variants.
