I currently have a Mac Pro that I believe I bought in 2007. The Mountain Lion requirements state that a Mac Pro must be 2008 or newer. Is there a way to install Mountain Lion on my Mac Pro? I am very disappointed that OS X upgrades will no longer be applied to my system.

First this is not an upgrade as such like 10.7.4 ETC is.

Second, Mountain Lion is 100% 64-Bit. Your older mac Pro has a 32-Bit EFI. That is what keeps it from running Mountain Lion.

You can continue to upgrade Lion for a long time to come.
