Does anyone know of a Thunderbolt (mini display port) to 4-pin IEEE 1394 (firewire) adapter? Can't locate such a cable/adapter on the web. Adapter is needed for video editing. The iMac's only Firewire 800 port is now being used for an external hard drive.

Thanks.

If anyone carries such a cable, it'll be the folks at monoprice.com.

I haven't seen anything yet - thunderbolt peripherals are just now starting to come out. The only thing I've seen that is even remotely close - isn't available until September (estimated). That is the Belkin Thunderbolt dock
Belkin : Thunderbolt Express Dock
Which will have firewire as one of the interfaces.

I guess - in theory the Thunderbolt Display also has a firewire connector on it but that is an expensive way to get to firewire as well.

I haven't seen monoprice get into Thunderbolt yet.

Thank you for the suggestion, chscag. I couldn't find the adapter on the monoprice web site but hope that customer service has a solution.

You sure that hard drive doesn't have an extra Firewire 800 port on the back of it? Most Firewire peripherals can be daisy-chained.
