Hi!

I have a Mac Book Pro running Mac OS X (v. 10.6.8).

Is there a text editor similar to Windows Notepad that I may use for editing HTML files?

Thank you.

Yes. TextEdit. It's in your Applications folder.

OS X comes with TextEdit. It's a rich text editor (by default) but can do plain text. However, there are apps much better suited to web development than TextEdit including (but not limited to) TextWrangler, TextMate or MacVim.

TextWrangler is what I'll call the free version of BBEdit which may do the job if you don't need any of BBEdit's advanced features.
