Parallels unable to Connect to Hard Disk 1 & Bootcamp Failed to Partition Hardrive.

So I get an error message when trying to partition my hard drive in bootcamp assistant and I cannot run any virtual machines in Parallels. I was trying to run ubuntu in parallels when I got the error message. I recently got parallels and that was my first time attempting to run a virtual machine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Mac OS X 10.7.4, MacBook Pro 13-inch, Early 2011

Parallels:

G'day and welcome to the forums.

At the time of starting BootCamp it is vital your computer, whatever model it is you do not say, be formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journalled) in one single partition.

Thanks,
My model identifier is MacBookPro8,1, model number MC724xx/A, configuration 13.3"/2.3 i5/2x2GB/320-5400

Does Boot Camp Assistant make the partition Mac OS Extended (Journalled)? If not how can I make it Mac OS Extended (Journalled). And does this have anything to do with Parallels not working?

BootCamp does make the partition if you use it. It has to be Journalled prior to running Bootcamp. BootCamp will then partition NTFS during install. Go into utilities > BootCamp Assistant > Guidelines and print them. Have not used any other program.

If you go into Disk Utility what does it show? Your hard drive and the Lion install?
