Hello...
I purchased a new iMac yesterday and part of the process was to set up 'mail' to work from my google mail account. This did so automatically using imap (as opposed to pop) and brought in about 14,000 emails! I then deleted them both from the inbox and then the trash in 'mail' but it just started to bring them back in again.
Having used pop before I know you can instruct google mail to either bring in all mail or just those from that day forward but I can't see that function for imap.
Does that mean imap will only ever mirror exactly whats on your gmail account? (ie if you want to delete emails you have to do it from source as opposed to in 'mail') or is there another way to instruct gmail that you only want to bring in emails to 'mail' from the day you want to start using it?
Any help greatly appreciated
