Time Machine Behaving Badly

Hello all,

I'm having a strange issue with Time Machine lately. I'm running SL 10.6.8 on my MBP and I'm running my Time Machine backups to a 1TB HDD that is directly attached.

I noticed today that TM is not keeping the most current file state of my machine whenever it is running the backups recently. For example, TM has run three times today but when you access the snapshots the files are reflecting a state from 6 days ago IE., the folders and files I've created over the last 6 days are not there even though TM has run several times today alone.

Any idea what could be causing this?
