Help! Want new Mac, how to transfer recovered files?

Hi! I'm the wife of ekkojelly7 ... I have a 3+ year old vista 17" laptop that crashed. I did a distractive reinstall of the system, and was able to recover the files, but did not take the time to move them all back into the My Documents, etc. folders. Fast forward a few weeks, and the dreaded blue screen has returned. .... Ok, time to switch back to a MAC ... but is it possible to recover my pics, emails, word docs, etc. to a new MAC? Will they be able to transfer all these files for me the day I purchase it at an Apple Store? What would you suggest? - wifey

Call ahead and ask the Apple Store. Only they can give you a definitive answer. As I recall they did used to do this service (PC to Mac transfer) when you bought a new machine.
