I have an iPhone 4 that is unlocked and jailbroken. It is currently running on 4.3.3 and I want to update it to 5.1.1. I have no idea what I am doing being a female and all. If I click update will it get rid of the jailbreak and the unlock I don't mind getting rid of the jailbreak but I need to keep it unlocked. Jailbreak is a pain I'm missing heaps of features I didn't know I could have.

Well honestly I'm not all that great at things like this but if you can help that would be great.

If you update your iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1 it will remove the jailbreak and very likely the unlock along with it. I'm not sure if there is an unlock that will work with your iPhone and 5.1.1. Perhaps someone else may have an answer to that. Until you find out for sure, do not update.

To the best of my knowledge, there is NO WAY to unlock an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1.

If you need the unlock, then you have to keep the iPhone where it is until iClarified or some site like that puts up a clear way to jailbreak and unlock 5.1.1. I believe the unlock part is achievable (at least tethered) but there's no unlock so far.
