I am punching the wall with this one. I can use various apps(sending from ipod touch or the iMac) and websites to wake my 2007 MacBook Pro and it works great. I try the exact same on my iMac and it won't do anything. Unfortunately it is the iMac that I need to wake up when I'm not home so I can access the files.
I have the "wake for network access" checked on both.
If i can get it to wake locally I'm sure I can figure it out from there.

MacBook Pro 17"

OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Router Qwest Q1000
DHCP with reserved ip's for each
both connected by ethernet
Any help would be fantastic.
