Noisy Harddrive

iMac 20" 500GB 4GB RAM
I have an iMac which I purchased in 2008. The original drive died and was replaced in 2010. Recently the drive started to make a chunking type noise whenever the drive wakes up. Does this mean it is on it's way to doomsville?

Sudden "different" noises from an HD is usually not a good sign. The best thing you can do is make a backup (if you don't already). Then if the HD does "crap-out"...all you have to do is install a new HD...and reinstall from your backup.
