I have a second-hand MacBook Pro that I've owned for a couple months now and I am trying to sell it. The previous owner had Lion installed on it. I would like to reformat the computer, but I'm not sure how, as there is no physical media for OSX Lion. I only have the CD's from the original box. So I am wondering how to go about reformatting the computer and retaining OSX Lion. I am kind of a Mac newb as well. Thank you.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

You have not purchased Lion so it will not re-install after formatting the drive. Use the original system CD to format (erase) the drive and install that operating system and then decide if you wish to sell it that way or pay for Lion in the App Store, subject to the operating system being OS X.6.6 or later.
