Hdd Limitation for Macbook Pro (mid 2009)

intend to upgrade the hdd in my 13inch Macbook Pro Core 2 Dual 2.26ghz 160gb.

May i know is it ok to run on 1tb 2.5inch Sata hdd? Anyone try?
I know it can run on 500gb 2.5inch Sata hdd.

If it's the right type of disk then the capacity is up to you.

This little thought that a higher capacity disk won't have the same performance comes to mind, but that won't be an issue for you :)

Thanks for the input.

I think western digital 1tb 2.5inch Sata hdd with 16gb cache should be the same type.
I posted here just incase anyone encounter problem using 1tb with 16gb cache.

Be careful with that upgrade. Many 1 TB SATA 2.5" hard drives are too thick to properly fit in the cavity of your MBP. Make certain the drive is no more than 9.5 MM thick. Most 1 TB drives are 12.5 MM. WD and Hitachi do make 1 TB drives of the proper thickness but they cost a bit more.

thanks for the tips, never thought of that until you tell me. Will look at the hdd spec before buying.
