I think these are exciting times ahead for us in the universe.

Scientists at Europe's CERN research center have found a new subatomic particle, a basic building block of the universe, which appears to be the boson imagined and named half a century ago by theoretical physicist Peter Higgs.

"We have reached a milestone in our understanding of nature," CERN director general Rolf Heuer told a gathering of scientists and the world's media near Geneva on Wednesday.

Well looks like some people don't see this as a big break through :( hahahahah

I am just amazed theta 50 years ago a man in a lab knew that there was this atom somewhere hanging around and didn't have the ability to prove it,and this man is alive today.. . . . .. It boggles the mind, or it does mine.
seeing this today a believe anything is possible (talking about my other thread) It can be done !!!!!

I do. He was walking in the Scottish Highlands when he thought it through..he must have had a couple of drams.

Very interesting indeed. To to think now that there is a corresponding value to all atoms.

And the corresponding value to gravity is 10 000 000 000 000 000 times more powerful. Doesn't that make other think WOW lol Weak force that is out there is so much stronger than gravity.

Still boggles my mind !!!!!!

125-126 GeV!!!!!!!! The corresponding mass to that type of energy value os HHHHUUUGGGEEE!!!

The energy equivalent for electron mass is 511 KeV (511,000 eV).
125,000,000,000 eV is what they have discovered here with the Higgs. Just astronomical. Great news.. great story.
