when connected to a wired network? I generally use my MBA on my lap connected to internet and home network wirelessly. I also often connect to a Thunderbolt Display which is connected to my network - and the internet - through a wired network cable. When I connect to the TBD do I have to manually turnoff the wireless connection in preferences? Or is there a way to make that happen automatically?

I believe you do have to turn it off. I've experimented with my setup here and it does not automatically switch from wireless to wired. Wireless has to be turned off in order to make the switch.

Bummer. No big deal. I have to turn blue tooth on and off as well.
