Can I leave my MBA '12 plugged in?

I cycle through the battery every 12-48 hours, but it's deteriorated from the original charge of 6700 mah to 6569 mah. a whole whopping 2% of original charge gone!

Yes you can leave it plugged in. No one has ever said that a laptop computer must be run on battery power only 100% of the time.

Using a laptop on battery power 100% of the time (when it's not necessary if a wall outlet is near by)...is a sure-fire way of wearing out a battery prematurely.

Periodic maintenance is necessary if the laptop is plugged in most if the time:

My MBP plugged in most of the time and i take it of quite often, use it until i get the 5 minute warning then move my *** to the uncomfortable seat and continue what I'm doing. I have had 145cycles and its at 97% health.
Mind you i haven't calibrated it in more than 6months so if i do this weekend i bet my 97% just might creep up to 98%
Calibrate as often as  suggest and you should have a health battery.

For current models, this is "never." Calibrating and maintaining the battery are two different things. Current (non-removable) batteries cannot be calibrated. They should be used at least occasionally, but not drained completely unless you have no alternative.

Thanks you guys! Especially technologist on the calibration. I was unsure if MBA '12's needed calibration or not.

I've heard pro and con regarding the new non-removable batteries. It kind of reminds me of the auto batteries that are sold and state "you never need to add water to the cells". Absolute baloney. Good way to destroy a battery here in Texas letting it dry out.

Once Apple care gives out, you had better keep after that "non removable battery" if you want it to go the supposed 1000 cycles Apple states.
