Iphone will not go into landscape mode

I just had to replace my Verizon iPhone 4 (ios 5.1.1) because of water damage. Now it will not go into landscape mode when turned on its side. Any suggestions?

15" MBP, 2.5GHz i7, 750GB, 6770M 1GB, iPad 3, iPhone 4, custom PC
double click the home button to open up you currently open apps. swipe to the left, and you will see music controls. to the left there is a button with a circular arrow on it. If that has a lock on it, your phone is portrait locked. Tap it again to remove the lock.
