Hardware to Record phone calls

I want to record a phone call from my cordless landline to my Macbook Pro.

Ok, I know I need a connector thingy from the phone line to the computer & I need some software - Garage Band?

I am in Bangkok - does that make any difference?

Any suggestions gratefully received as to what hardware/software would be best ! Thank you.
