just wondering. i have heard mac does not need norton. i had another comcast account for years and was not concerned. currently i have started another account at a different location and comcast is offering norton for mac at no charge. is this a good idea for a mac? i had previously heard: i don't need it, and, it is counter-productive: meaning it is a bad thing and has bad security consequences.

Thank You !

Give Norton's a miss all round. If you feel you must have antivirus software use ClamXAV. As louishen advises most experienced users here do not use AV software as there are no viruses for Mac OS X.
