My MBP has a terminal illness.

So the other day my 2008 17'' mbp crashed and through up this screen. I was only using word at this point, but normally run adobe application regularly. Now when she turns on I cant get past the apple screen with that blue/black pattern. Whats up with this, any suggestions?

Looks like, minimally, your graphics subsystem has failed. But since you aren't getting past the initial boot screen, the logic board might have failed as well. You will have to take it to an Apple store or authorized service person to confirm the level of failure and the cost of getting it fixed..
