Hello all, I'm new here. I've had my macbook pro for a couple of years now with almost no problems. However, just recently Disk Utility will not open for some reason. When I go to click on the icon a question mark appears and nothing happens. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

System: OS X 10.5.8
Processor: 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Thanks

Do a Spotlight search for Disk Utility.app. It should be located in Applications, Utilities. If it isn't there, it may have been accidentally deleted or moved. Are you using Time Machine to make backups? If so, restore from backup.

When I did a search for Disk Utility it did not show up, suggesting it was deleted. Hmm is there a way to "download" it or extract it somehow?

You can extract it from your Leopard DVD set, but you'll need special software in order to do it. "Pacifist" from Charles Software.
