I've owned an iPad and iPhone for some time now and have recently delved into the world of the MacBook Pro. As soon as I turned the machine on I realised immediately what a classy piece of hardware it was. I've recently installed a piece of software called 'VMWare' to allow the use of a Windows operating system (if need be), mainly to utilise 'Windows only' software relating to my work.

On to the problem... When I open 'Safari' to view webpages etc it takes approximately 1 whole minute before the web page loads, and then appears to work fine thereafter. However, if you leave the webpage idle for a couple of minutes and start to browse the web again, the same problem may occur. I've tried downloading and installing different web browsers to see if using the likes of Mozilla or Google Chrome solve the issue, but unfortunately the answer is 'no'. The funny thing is, if I happen to use Windows 7 using the 'VMWare' software the windows web browser works absolutely fine, which tells me there's nothing up with my Internet connection. I have also read through a couple of message-boards on the Internet which suggest changing the 'DNS' settings in 'Preferences'. I've tried various Open DNS addresses but still the 'slow web page loading' occurs.

The problem has always been apparent ever since I first opened and booted up my new MacBook.

I would be extremely grateful for any advice / help. Many thanks for taking time out to read this.

Might be a VMWare issue although

I find Safari at least four times slower than Google Chrome. I use Parallels so I may use a couple of pieces of legacy Windows software and it works very well.
