My mother has a classic White MacBook (not pro) from about five years ago. It's not running very quickly anymore and I was thinking if she bought a new SSD I could install it and the computer would run much more quickly.

BUT, my question is, can I even do that? For example, if she bought this Crucial SSD, would it be compatible? (I'm not sure why it wouldn't, but I don't want her to buy and me install it only to find out after the fact that it won't work) Also would it even help if the processor and everything else are still 5 years old?

Thanks for any advice.
