Anybody think the new advert for the MacBook Pro is one of the poorest ever Marketing Campaigns from Apple?

The Ad focuses on the product and the product only. It offers no emotional attachment to the end user (where are the people?). To conclude i think the new ad is all about the what and not the why!

At this rate we will only have to wait another year until Apple becomes another typical corporate lead commercial Company. DON'T LOSE THE SEX AND DON'T BECOME MICROSOFT! S J IS GONE AND HE DID SAY DO WHATS BEST FOR APPLE BUT THIS TIME I THINK ITS BEST TO DO IT HIS WAY.

I totally disagree with you. it's a 30 second clip that leans towards describing the selling points of their new flagship model MBP. It isn't geared towards soccer moms or skyping grandparents. Sometimes you just have to get to the point, and this clip does just that. Besides, it's more of a teaser commercial than anything. Something to wet the palate, if you will.

I wouldn't worry about it, I think that Apple P.R. and marketing can handle this without our input.

When you market something you market for an audience. This is rule one of marketing: Know who they are.
The new Pro was designed for the pro. Not the soccer mom, not the soldier, not the college student. So they want to advertise for the pro user. The pro user wants to know What, not why. That is why it's like this.
