So I'm looking at buying the new MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display with the following spec.

2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
16GB 1600MHZ DDR3L SDRAM
512GB Flash Storage Drive

My question is how much more power/processing am I going to see over my current MBP 15" with 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB 1067MHz DDR3 and with a 500GB 7200RPM harddrive when doing video editing in Final Cut Pro X and processing video

What percentage and time - Any ideas

Thanks

I can't give times and percent it all varies. But this machine will be a beast.

Word of caution....
You can NOT upgrade your hardware. What u order is what you get. Good thing u want the 16gb ram cause It's soldered to the motherboard.

That's why I went with the mbp 15 2.6ghz non retina same specs but no ssd (750hdd) but I can add a 500gb ssd for 400 instead of costing 900 lol. But it's up to u. Right now not a lot of apps or programs takes advantage Of the new retina. Best of luck :)
