Hi,

I'm trying to install a 32bit Windows 7 Professional on a MacBook Pro running Max OS X Lion 10.7.4, with no DVD drive (and I;m totally new to the Mac world, but eager to learn).

Several attempts in doing so from an external DVD drive, using Boot Camp, failed. When restarting, I could see the Windows drive, but after double clicking on it I would only receive smth like "no bootable disk, insert bootable disk and press any key... ".

After doing some reading, I came to the following conclusions:

1. WIndows 7 cannot be installed from an external DVD drive.
2. If, after starting Boot Camp, I don't see an "install from flash"-like option (which I don't), I can't install Windows using this option either.
3. Given 1 and 2, this means I can't install WIndows 7 on my Mac.

Could smbd more experienced correct me if I'm wrong?

Thanks,
Kind regards
