I bought a used 2.16 gHz core duo MBP that the previous owner said had keyboard problems ("a few keys don't work"). He explained, "A while back I paid to have an Apple technician take a look at it. He said that the keys were bad and suggested that he disable the keyboard entirely, but stated it could be re-enabled; I assume he somehow shut it off. No liquid was ever spilled on it."
Before I can try any suggested fixes, I need to figure out how to re-enable it.
Using an external USB keyboard, I tried the following:
sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBTopCase.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBTCKeyb oard.kext/
This did not re-enable the keyboard.
If I can't manage to fix it, how do I disable it again?
BTW, the internal touchpad works fine.
Thanks for any help.
