Better Macbook for college?

In a few months I will be starting my Freshman year in college and I was wondering which Macbook would be best for me. I understand the MBP has more ports and is a bit stronger than the MBA, but the MBA is also thinner, lighter in weight, and also has a higher resolution screen. Can anyone please tell me which you recommend and which Macbook is better overall?

16Gb Mac Mini 2018, 15" MacBook Pro 2012 1 TB SSD
The best MacBook is the one you like best. Since cost is no object go to the store and try them out. Any should be acceptable performance-wise.

If you want thin and easy to carry, choose Air
If you want powerful and upgradable, choose Pro
If you want both carry thin and powerful, choose Retina Pro
I will never choose Air, since I hat the U series CPU and like upgrade.
