I am relatively new to apples. I downloaded the latest Apple patches this morning. After re-starting, VMware will not re-start my Windows 7. I get the following messages:
"Unable to retrieve kernel zone sizes" following by
"Failed to initialize monitor device" followed by
"Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to"

HELP! What has happened???

using: Apple OSX 10.7.x, VMware Fusion 3.1, Windows 7 Home Premier

Thanks!

Do you have a Time Machine backup? Or a VM Fusion "Snapshot" backup of your virtual machine? If you do, restore from backup or the snapshot.

Also, do you remember which updates you downloaded? Another thing... while VMWare Fusion 3.1 is still a good version, it has not been updated for Lion. Only VMWare Fusion 4.X has been updated for Lion.

You probably need to upgrade to VMWare 4. However you can try reinstalling 3 just make sure you don't toss your Win 7 partition out. As advised, you might need to reinstall or restore from a snapshot of Win 7 as well.
