Copying my hard drive to my new mac

Hi,

I have got a G5 iMac (17 inch) at home and recently my work have got me a second company machine (a G5 imac also) for the office. I am wondering how to copy my entire hard drive accross to the new Mac so I have all my programs, settings, documents, etc.

Use Carbon Copy Cloner: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7032. Follow the Firewire Target Mode steps outlined in the Finder Help and use CCC to duplicate the old drive on the new one.

thats what i was going to say, but if you want to copy select things, use the built in transfer manager (or somethign like that) its in Applications/Utilities

Yeah the built in transfer manager has been easier to use in my experience than a third party freeware app.
