** hum. You clearly have a different definition of the word force. You've been given some clear and informed advice on both existing upgrade paths and new purchase but you seem determined to discount that. Good luck with you're 'forced' decision.

I wish Apple had thought about this an planned a new iMac release prior to dropping mobile me. I'm thinking that there must be a lot of people with the same issue.
