I realize there may be a bunch of these threads popping up soon. However, I have a mid 2010 macbook pro that I have upgraded the ram in it to 8gb. It has a 2.4ghz core 2 duo processor. I was considering upgrading the hard drive to a 120gb ssd or purchasing a new retina macbook pro. Im a college student majoring in information systems. Im taking a lot of web design and programming courses.

Would I notice a significant difference in performance with the retina mbp over mine even if I upgraded the hard drive?

Thanks

Your Mac's Specs
mbp 15 2009, mbp 13 2010
if you can upgrade to ssd on your mid 2010 should be good enough. I have a mid 2010 mbp with ssd, it is running fast will not have to consider another one for 3 to 5 years.
if you still want to get the new generation mbp is even better.
