Hi

I recently upgraded my Hard Drive from 5400 RPM to 7200 RPM all is well except the original installation disc i booted from was a 2008 version of Mac OS X Leopard. I've already installed the latest Software Updates but can't seem to get GarageBand updated. I don't necessarily need the latest version of GB but V-2008 makes me feel like I'm working with a "rusty squeeze box" how do i install a later version ?

Each version of Garage Band had to be purchased as far as I know it first came in each iLife Suite now it can be purchased individually in the APP Store in SL or Lion.

Suggest purchasing Snow Leopard from Apple Online for US$29 if the computer is an Intel model. Leopard was always a slow, hungry old beast!

If i purchase GB individually (which is all i need) from Apple Mac Store, will i need to upgrade from my current OS X Leopard 10.5 to Snow Leopard to qualify ???

If thats the case ? Could i upgrade from OS X Leopard to SL for free ? If yes would this mean having to customize settings all over again for the new OS ?

Its not free and you need SL because the APP Store is only on SL and Lion.
