Contact folder on top of app folder

I managed to make my applications folder which was located in the dock to turn to dust. I have managed to get the applications folder back into the dock, but this applications folder has the contact folder on top of it....

How do I get rid of the contact folder, but not the application folder?

Right click the Applications folder. From the menu that pops up select:

Sort by: Name

Display as: Folder

View Content as: List

You can change those to suit your desires. But that should get you started in the right direction.
