Hello fellow Macheads,

Recently the 1 TB HD fried in my 2007 G5 tower. Any suggestions on what I should buy to replace it in terms of great quality for very reasonable price? I've seen prices as low as $80 but don't know if it's just crap and maybe I should spend more. I don't anticipate keeping this computer for very long... maybe a year or so.

My G5 is a Mac Pro Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 3 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM.

Thanks in advance for the help.

First, your machine is not a "G5", it's a Mac Pro. Big difference. :)

I recommend going to the "Other World Computing" site and see what they have for desktop drives. You basically need a 3.5" SATA drive of around the same capacity as the one that died. Should be easy to find.

Here is the LINK.
