I thought I would share this.
I emailed Cyanworlds about a week ago asking if there were any plans to port MYST and Riven to the Mac App Store (not to be confused with the iOS store) to play on my desktop.

I'm excited! These are some of my favorite games. Playing them again in a dimly lit room with nice speakers on a big monitor will be awesome!

Hello,
I was curious if there were any plans to port MYST (or even better,
RealMYST!) and Riven over to the Mac App Store. I own the games on DVD's but
unfortunately, they won't install on OSX Lion due to the games not being
Intel native. I'm glad they're available for iOS but I miss being able to
play them on a nice, big monitor! Any response is much appreciated.
Thanks so much
and this is the response I received:
Hello,
We have had many requests to re-master Myst, Riven, and Myst V: End of Ages
(we do not have the rights to Myst III: Exile or Myst IV: Revelation) for
the Mac as well as for the newer Windows OS for the PC. We are planning on
releasing versions of Myst (most likely realMYST) and Riven for the Intel
Macs later in 2012 and we do hope to include Myst V at an even later date.
We do not yet have an exact time-frame as to when this will be, but when the
time comes we will make an announcement on the Cyan Worlds website.
Thank you for your inquiry!
