i just want to know the proper version of firmware password for 10.4.11 OS, as i said i do NOT have the start-up disks and where i live in the world, forget getting them. ORBICULE says 1.2.1, download sites say 1.0.2 and apple says no update necessary, that 1.7/1.8 or higher is fine and the version would be the same as my boot ROM version... 4.7.1 f1. confused! thanks for your help.

You are talking about a Firmware Update, not about the Firmware password.

If you are connected to the internet, Software Update (top left blue Apple menu) will tell you if you need to update firmware.
Or, you can check Mactracker online.
Only the first 2 (out of 17) models of PB G4 had a firmware update.
